Mid-Jersey Heat an AAU Basketball Club

Mid-Jersey Heat (MJH) is an AAU affiliated organization for girls and boys in the Central New Jersey Shore area of Ocean County, New Jersey. Our home is Manchester Township which is located minutes from Seaside boardwalk/beach, 30 minutes from Atlantic City, 30 minutes from Trenton, 45 minutes from Newark, and 20 minutes from Great Adventure.

Mid-Jersey Heat basketball youth program offers a higher level of competition than is not offered in recreational and travel basketball leagues. Our main objective is to provide “pre-, mid and after-season” play for girls and boys who are committed to basketball and who wish to improve their skills. The Heat Boys are coached by Monwell Brown who is the Founder and President of the club. Coach Monwell leads the Boys U12, U13, U14, and U16. Coach Bert Griffin and Coach Gerorge Martin(Bassie) assist with the U13 & U14 teams and Coach Kevin Oliver(Mello) assists with the u16 team. Coach Sean Barksdale is the leader of the U11 boys. Coach Dave Hayes is our Commissioner. Coach John Brown leads the Boys U14 on several special occasions and holds clinics.

Our sister program Mid-Jersey Lady Heat (MJLH) will be starting their 4th season this year. The Heat girls are under the guidance and leadership of Vice President and Girls Director Rick Valmon, who coaches Girls U15-u17. In addition, Kevin Jones coaches the Girls U13, Dennis Adams and Frank Henderson leads the U9-U11.

The MJH will continue to participate on a highly competitive AAU, YBOA, USBA, JR. NATIONALS and non-AAU level. We will be competing in tournaments in the Mid-Atltantic, Metropolitan area and along the East Coast region.  Our teams maintain an intensive indoor practice and training schedule throughout the year. All players are continuing to excel at an expected rate. We are proud of our accomplishments. We have rolling tryouts, throughout the year!
