Mid-Jersey Heat an AAU Basketball Club

Mid-Jersey Heat (MJH) is an AAU affiliated organization for girls and boys in the Central New Jersey Shore area of Ocean County, New Jersey. Our home is Manchester Township, we practice in Lakewood, Toms River, and Manchester which is located minutes from Seaside boardwalk/beach, 30 minutes from Atlantic City, 30 minutes from Trenton, 45 minutes from Newark, and 20 minutes from Great Adventure.

Mid-Jersey Heat basketball youth program offers a higher level of competition than is not offered in recreational and travel basketball leagues. Our main objective is to provide “pre-, mid and after-season” play for girls and boys who are committed to basketball and who wish to improve their skills, against the best competition in the United States. The Heat Boys are guided by Monwell Brown who is the Founder and President of the club. Coach Monwell leads the Boys U13, U15, and U17 boys. Coach Sean Barksdale is the leader of the U11 boys. Coach Chris Sweeney leads the U12 and Coach Bert Griffin leads the U14 boys . Coach John Brown leads the Boys U15 on several special occasions and holds clinics for the entire boys program. Coach Kevin Oliver(Mello) leads with the u17 team as needed.   

Our sister program Mid-Jersey Lady Heat (MJLH) will be starting their 6th season this year. The Heat girls are under the guidance and leadership of Vice President and Girls Director Rick Valmon, who coaches Girls U15-u17. In addition,  Frank Henderson leads the U13 girls and Coach Monwell leads the U11 girls at this time.

The MJH will continue to participate on a highly competitive AAU, YBOA, USBA, JR. NATIONALS and non-AAU level. We will be competing in tournaments in the Mid-Atltantic, Metropolitan area and along the East Coast region.  Our teams maintain an intensive indoor practice and training schedule throughout the year. All players are continuing to excel at an expected rate. We are proud of our accomplishments and will continue excel!!
